Takeaways
- The Lynk & Co 10 achieved 1,100 kW peak charging with a 10% to 97% time of 8 minutes 42 seconds, using Zeekr V4 megawatt chargers on a 900‑volt platform.
- Europe’s fastest publicly deployed chargers currently top out at around 350 kW, while Geely’s proprietary network in China already includes over 2,100 stations.
Lynk & Co 10 Claims 1,100 kW Peak Charging, Beating BYD’s Flash Charging Benchmark
According to official test data released on 7 April 2026, Geely’s Lynk & Co brand announced that the Lynk & Co 10 electric sedan achieved a peak charging power of 1,100 kW, completing a 10% to 70% charge in 4 minutes 22 seconds and a 10% to 97% charge in 8 minutes 42 seconds.
The test used Zeekr V4 megawatt flash charging piles, which feature a single gun peak power of 1,300 kW and a peak current of 1,300 A. Even after exceeding 80% state of charge, the system maintained more than 500 kW of charging power.
900V Architecture and Battery Technology
The Lynk & Co 10 is built on a 900‑volt high‑voltage platform using Geely’s Energee Golden Brick LFP battery, an upgraded version of the 800‑volt pack previously used in Zeekr models.
The vehicle will launch in the Chinese market in the second quarter of 2026. A higher performance variant, the Lynk & Co 10+, features dual‑motor all‑wheel drive with combined power of 680 kW (925 hp).
Competitive Context: BYD Flash Charging
The announcement follows BYD’s March 2026 unveiling of its second‑generation Blade Battery and megawatt flash charging system, which claims 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and 10% to 97% in 9 minutes.
BYD has installed 5,000 megawatt flash charging stations in China and targets 20,000 by the end of 2026. Geely’s self‑built charging network as of February 2026 comprised 2,103 stations and 10,212 charging piles across 215 cities.
European Charging Infrastructure Gap
The fastest publicly deployed chargers in Europe currently deliver approximately 350 kW to 400 kW. BYD plans to deploy more than 3,000 one‑megawatt charging stations in Europe by the end of 2026, though this rollout is focused on BYD‑compatible hardware. The Zeekr V4 chargers used in the Lynk & Co test have no confirmed mass deployment timeline outside China.
European Market Implications
Lynk & Co has no confirmed European launch date for the Lynk & Co 10. However, in March 2026, Volvo Cars signed a memorandum of understanding with Geely Auto to become the exclusive importer and distributor of Lynk & Co electric vehicles in Europe, giving the brand access to Volvo’s network of approximately 2,300 dealers. Lynk & Co sold 9,571 vehicles in Europe in 2025, up from 5,991 the previous year.
The open question is whether European charging infrastructure will close the gap with Chinese ultra‑fast charging technology before the next generation of Chinese EVs arrives in European showrooms.
