Renault Cuts 2,400 Engineers, Protects Shanghai Hub to Match China Speed
Renault will cut 15% to 20% of its global engineering workforce, up to 2,400 positions, as part of the FutuReady restructuring plan. The Shanghai Ampere China Development Center is exempt from the cuts and serves as the operational template. The sub‑€20,000 Twingo E‑Tech, developed in 21 months with Shanghai input, is the stated proof of concept.
