UK Car Industry Demands EU Inclusion as ‘Made in EU’ Rules Threaten £70bn Trade
The UK‘s SMMT has formally called on the EU to include Britain as a trusted partner under the ‘Made in EU’ provisions of the proposed Industrial Accelerator Act. With annual EU-UK automotive trade valued at €80 billion, SMMT warns that ambiguity over the UK‘s status is already affecting investment decisions and could place British manufacturers at a systemic competitive disadvantage.
